Welcome to my home! Kilkenny city is a well-visited city by tourists for its unique medieval streets. A city with tons of history, with a spectacular castle and grounds dating back to 1195.
Home of the most decorated hurling team to date. Oh, and its the resting site of Saint Nicholas himself. Who would have known? In addition to that, it’s a city with its own brewery producing its own local beer that is even available in the United States, Germany and all across the globe.
I always trying to encourage more people to visit my home county. With the city being such a small navigable area, with tons of history, it makes for a great stop off point for people visiting Ireland.
Kilkenny is well known for its Hen and Stag parties. Some of the best bars in Kilkenny are Langton’s, Bridies, The Dylan Whisky Bar, The Left Bank and Kytelers Inn. You will not struggle to find a live band and a drink here. If you have time to break away from the city, a quick spin to Inistioge (pronounce it like in-ish-teeg) certainly unwinds the mind. It really is like stepping back in time.
