Banos is one of the funnest places I have ever visited. Seriously. The amount of thrills and adventures you can experience here is uncountable, even though the city runs off of tourism, I didn’t care. Usually that is a big spoiler for me but you will leave Banos laughing at the times you had here. Even the name of the place (same word in Spanish for bathroom)

The city itself lies deep in the valley of the Amazon rainforest, this means unbelievable views wherever you go here. While this is a great destination for backpackers, I found Banos wildly expensive. That although is down to the fact I did so many excursions here and also partied like a true Latino.

Average expenses in Banos are; (NB. Ecuador uses the American Dollar)

  • Hostel Dorm: $5 – $10 USD
  • Food: Restaurant $10 USD
  • Pint of Beer: $3 USD

I don’t think I ever had a good time as much as I did in Banos. For parties, late nights and day trips. You have got to see this place at some stage in your life. There is simply too much to tell about this place, follow the link at the bottom of the page to see what Banos has to offer.
